“These were truly exceptional games!” declared by Jacques Rogge, the International
Olympic Committee President. Though I didn’t like the description of “exceptional”,
compared with “unforgettable, dream games” in 2004, I still thanked and remembered
for his appreciation.
Had seen the flame extinguished, I was a little bit reluctant to say goodbye to this
great games.
Of course, it was truly hard to believe. The dream we had expected for so many years
came to the end so fast. Just like another dream we had made for 16 days, but after a
glittering carnival party, the dream was finally over.
I don’t care how other people evaluated about these games, for me, it TRULY IS the
most memorable Olympics, not only the tenacity and determination showed by athletes
in their pursuit of perfection, but also the cheers showed by audience from bird’s
nest to water cube, to everywhere of the competition venues. Much more people shared
the joyful moment, no matter what cultural backgrounds they had. That’s made me feel
the pure nature of human being had lost for a long time. Well, O.K., maybe just me
lost, however~
Thanks to all the 639 Chinese athletes, who had totally won 51 gold, 21 silver and 28
bronze medals. Deeply appreciated their excellent performances. Although I didn’t pay
anymore attention to the medal standings, just no sooner than the schedule came into
the second week.
Thanks to Liu xiang, Du li, Zhu qinan, Cheng fei, chen zhong, shawn Johnson, Emmons
family, Chusovitina, even Michael Phelps, Usain Bolt…… the touching moments they
showed also shared me the emotional experience.
And that was the reason why I enjoyed the power of sport than the medals.
However, it was finally over, the Beijing 2008 Olympics were over. But the passion
would inspire me for a long long time. That's enoguh, rihgt?
